Tips for using our website

The most important thing for you to do when you start building your Project is to pick your Delivery Date (start date) and your Return Date (end date). These dates will affect what furnishings are displayed as being available.

If you return to our website at a future date, your old Project Dates will likely be retained, so it is important that you set the dates at the start of every project to ensure that availabilities display correctly.

You may also select dates within your Project cart, accessed by clicking on the orange shopping cart icon in the upper right of the screen.

 

Once you click on “Select a rental period”, a small popup box will appear on your screen. Within this box you may only choose the period of 1 month. When you click on the left-most “MM-DD-YY” field, a date-picker will appear for you to choose the desired delivery date/start date of your order. The right-most “MM-DD-YY” field will automatically complete to the date that is one month later than your start date.

The fastest way to check the availability of an item is to click on the “Quick View” link:

This causes a popup box to appear which will tell you whether an item is available. In most cases, this information will be correct, but items that do not return to inventory as expected (extended rentals, late returns, damage) may result in an incorrect availability status.

When you place your order, a Stage Right Rentals team member will confirm availability of your desired items and, should something not be available, you will be offered suitable alternatives.

If an item that you like shows as “unavailable”, you can scroll to the bottom of the product page for alternative products selected by our designers to match both the style and scale of your original selection. The fastest way to check for availabilities of the alternatives is to click on the “Quick View” link.

The Project List is the best tool on our site to assemble your Project. Wherever you see items for rent, you can add those items to your Project List by clicking on the heart icon next to each item:

 

In the Project List, you can review each of the items you’ve selected by clicking on “Quick View”:

Within the Quick View window, you can add the item to your Project Cart by clicking “Add to project”:

You can continue working in this fashion within your Project List, with your Project Cart open on the right side of your screen. When you’ve completed your project, you can choose to click “See Project Quote” to complete your transaction:

The best way to share your furnishing selections with your client, if desired, is to use the email share button at the bottom of the Project List page. Using this feature will send your client a link via email that will allow them to review the exact Project List you assembled for this project.

The Look Better section of our website is a great way to get inspiration for a staging you have planned:

 

You can filter and scroll through the pictures to find a look that you like. When you find a look, mouse-over (or tap) on the image and two icons will appear: the left icon opens an enlargement of the room image, the right icon opens a new browser tab with the items in that room displayed within our catalogue:

 

Because the catalogue is opened in a new browser tab, you can, if you like, split the screens out, side-by-side, so you can examine the room image and the room items within the catalogue:

 

You may then add whichever items you like from the catalogue to your Project List by clicking the heart icon next to each item:

 

In the Project List, click on the “Quick View” link to inspect each room item you’ve collected and check availability…

 

… then you can click on the “Add to project” button to add the item to your Project Cart on the right. When you’ve finished your project, you can click on the “See Project Quote” to complete your transaction:

How it works

No, there are no minimum order sizes, but there is a minimum delivery charge which will be quoted when your booking is confirm by a Stage Right Rentals team member.

Minimum initial rental period is 1 month. The minimum additional rental period is 1 week. In the second month of your rental, you will receive a discount of 20% off your original Project cost, not including shipping/delivery fees. During the third month of your rental and for any following months, your discount will be 30% off your original Project cost, not including shipping/delivery fees.

To fairly manage product availability for all of our customers, reservations made for periods more than 1 week in advance will not be accepted. If such an order is placed, a Stage Right Rentals team member will contact you by phone you to discuss your options.

Once you’ve clicked ‘See Project Quote’ in your Project cart, you’ll be taken to a booking summary page. If you haven’t created an account, you will need to do so at this time. Creating an account does not obligate you in any way.

In your booking summary, you can review the items you’ve elected to rent, and you will be required to fill-out your billing and delivery information. Once complete, you can click the orange “Submit project for review” button.

Once submitted, a Stage Right Rentals team member will confirm receipt of your project request by sending you an email. The Stage Right Rentals team member will confirm that the inventory you selected for your Project is available in the desired timeframe and will send you a Booking Confirmation by email if it is. If, for whatever reason, some items are not available for rental (extended rentals, late returns, damaged returns), you will be contacted by phone to discuss possible substitutions.

Once your order is Booked via our online catalogue, a StageRight Rentals team member will send you a Rental Contract that you must sign via DocuSign. This is a very simple process for you that involves only a few clicks. We strongly recommend that you read the entire Rental Contract before signing.

Once your Rental Contract is signed, a Stage Right Rentals team member will contact you by phone to confirm delivery and pickup dates/times with you. Your Delivery/Pickup Fee will be confirmed at this time.

Full payment of your Project and Delivery/Pickup Fees will be required at this time via e-transfer, cheque, or credit card. Whatever the form of payment, a credit card will be required to be kept on file.

Following payment of your Project and Delivery/Pickup Fees, your Project will be confirmed by email, and the inventory you have selected will be reserved and will no longer appear on the Stage Right Rentals website.

Currently, we are not requiring a damage deposit, however, you are responsible for any damages that may occur to your order during your rental period. All furniture, art, and accessories available for rent are in good-to-new condition. 

When your order is delivered to you, you will have the opportunity to inspect the order, indicate any pre-existing damage on a Damage Report, and then sign-off on the condition of all items received. On pickup, the order will be inspected once again. Any discrepancies in the pickup versus the Damage Report will be considered damage caused by the contract holder.

If damage is recorded for any item in your order, the following damage fees will apply:

Stain removal on upholstered items and rugs – Starts at $150.

Scratch removal on painted or wood-stained items – Starts at $150.

Broken items that are repairable will be quoted on.

Any item damaged beyond repair – replacement value, plus admin and sourcing time.

Unreturned items – replacement value, plus admin and sourcing time.

You may cancel your Project without penalty up to 2 days before your scheduled delivery day/time. If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled delivery day/time, a 15% Restocking Fee will apply. In such a situation, you will be refunded 85% of your Project and 100% of your Delivery/Pickup Fees.

If you need to extend your rental period, please call 1-833-RENT-BETTER, no later than 2 full business days before the end of your current contract. Weekly extensions are available at a weekly fee, billed at the start of each extension week and billed as a proration of your original Project.

If you are late returning some or all of the items in your order, based on the terms of your original order, you will be charged a weekly pro-rated fee equivalent to 25% of your outstanding Project rentals, until the order is returned to Stage Right Rentals in satisfactory condition.

For example, if your initial rental charge was $1000, excluding delivery fees, and you return half the order at the end of your one-month term, you would be charged $125/week ($1000 x 50% = $500 x 25% = $125/week) until the balance of the order is returned.

If you anticipate needing an extension to your original rental terms, please call 1-833-RENT-BETTER, no later than 2 full business days before the end of your current contract.

Delivery

Orders are most often delivered within one day of the order being paid for. Weekend deliveries are possible in some circumstances. Contact us to discuss at 1-833-RENT-BETTER.

Delivery and pickup are done by trained Stage Right Rentals movers, based on the terms of your order. Alternatively, you may pickup your own order but you must demonstrate that you have the correct size vehicle to transport furniture and that you have appropriate packing materials (i.e. furniture pads).

Purchasing from Stage Right Rentals

Sometimes items are available for purchase on the Stage Right Rentals website, but the selection is limited. When items are available for sale, they will be displayed on the Catalogue page, in the left-hand menu under “Inventory For Sale”.

Stage Right Rentals does not offer a rent-to-own program at this time.
